Six: foul trouble of role players. A starter who’s the team’s best perimeter defender being in foul trouble means the opposing wing star is about to get easier looks in the second half. This rarely shows in the half score but matters for second half prop pricing.

Second half totals are where I focus most halftime energy. The pre-game total is a single number; the halftime second-half total is two numbers (first half scoring already locked + second half projection), so the projection part is what you’re actually betting against.
